On iOS 16, the display of notifications on the lock screen has been changed. A new provision decried by many iPhone users. Fortunately, it is very easy to revert to the old organization.

iOS 16 has enriched our iPhones with new and varied features. But some are not unanimous like the organization of notifications on the lock screen. Now, these appear by default at the bottom of the screen and no longer below the clock. The goal is to declutter the screen.

However, some users find this new layout far from intuitive. Not everyone is open to change, with some failing to put such entrenched habits on hold. Fortunately, it is possible to return to the old organization in a few clicks. We explain the procedure to you below.

iOS 16: how to display notifications in list?

  • Open them Settings.
  • Scroll down until you find the section Notifications.
  • Once inside, you have three choices for the lock screen.
  • To go back to the old layout and show notifications as a list, opt for the option Listing.
  • L’option Pile displays notifications grouped in stacks by application.
  • Finally, the option Name only tells you the number of notifications.

As a reminder, the new Stack option shows notifications stacked on top of each other from the bottom of the lock screen as you receive them. The most recent notification appears at the top, and the second is partially visible below. The number of remaining notifications is then indicated. Nice thing, users can totally switch to list mode by swiping up or pinching the lock screen.

Recently, Apple corrected the big defect of the “Always-On” screen of the iPhone 14 Pro by deploying iOS 16.2. It is now possible to disable the display of notifications and the lock screen wallpaper when the mode is activated.
