Looking for a basic, yet affordable cooler for your Intel or AMD processor? Amazon might just have what you need in its “Basic” product line.
In the field of entry-level coolers, Antec, Cooler Master, Enermax or even DeepCool will have to deal with one more competitor: Amazon. Under its Amazon Basics range, the American e-commerce giant has launched a model around 26 euros in France, called “ Amazon Basics – Cooling Fan ». Effectively basic, the latter nevertheless offers a satisfactory experience for its price, as demonstrated Tom’s Hardware US.
In son test, the specialized site evokes a silent device, capable of good performance to dissipate up to 200 W of thermal envelope. Amazon’s cooler, on the other hand, seems to be lacking in terms of installation and uses an old four-pin connector for its RGB lighting system.
“Basic”, but effective, for less than 30 euros
Compatible with Intel LGA1700 and AMD AM5 sockets, the device (reference RR-H410-20PC-AS) is based on a very classic aluminum radiator, to which are added four copper heat pipes coming into direct contact with the CPU at their basis. On this radiator is installed a 92 mm RGB fan ranging from 600 to 2000 rotations per minute (RPM) for a CFM index estimated at 34.73. In terms of dimensions, the Amazon cooler is rather compact. With 102 x 83.4 x 136 mm, it should be able to be installed without too many problems in certain compact configurations, mini-ITX or micro-ATX for example.
Interesting fact raised by TechPowerUp, it looks like this cooler is actually a slightly redesigned version of Cooler Master’s Hyper H410R RGB model. Well known to PC configuration enthusiasts, the brand would thus supply Amazon as a white label with this product. What explains, perhaps, the good quality / price ratio offered by Amazon with this product which does not fall from the sky.
